We are seeking a Membrane Production Specialist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in polymer chemistry and extensive experience in pilot-scale casting, particularly using roll-to-roll (R2R) techniques. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing ion exchange membranes.

The successful Membrane Production Specialist will play a crucial role in advancing our membrane production capabilities, from polymer synthesis to large-scale manufacturing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of functional polymer technology and contribute to the development of innovative membrane solutions

Your roles as Membrane Production Specialist

Within Manufacturing, you take on various roles with the following main responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize polymer formulations for ion exchange membranes.

• Conduct functionalization of polymers and perform comprehensive characterization.

• Operate and maintain R2R casting equipment for producing flat sheet membranes.

• Utilize R2R manufacturing techniques to scale up membrane production from laboratory to pilot scale.

• Develop and optimize casting and coating processes for both monolithic and reinforced membranes.

• Ensure quality control and consistency in membrane production.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes.

• Maintain accurate documentation of processes and experiments.

• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Polymer Chemistry, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering or related field.

• Proven industrial work experience in polymer functionalization and characterization techniques.

• Hands-on experience with R2R casting of flat sheet membranes.

• Familiarity with pilot-scale production of polymeric materials.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations in chemical manufacturing.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with ion exchange membranes synthesis and applications.

• Experience with in-line characterization and quality control methods for membrane production (R2R)

• Familiarity with membrane testing and performance evaluation.

• Understanding of scale-up challenges in polymer production.
